School Uniform

All children at Bryn Offa CE Primary School should wear the school uniform at all times unless this has been discussed and agreed with a senior member of staff. Please ensure that all your child’s school uniform and equipment is labelled clearly with your child’s name.

  • School sweatshirt/school cardigan or navy jumper/cardigan
  • Plain grey or black trousers, shorts, skirt or pinafore dress. Checked or striped summer dress in blue and white (optional)
  • Plain white polo shirt (long or short sleeved) or a shirt/blouse
  • White, black, grey or navy socks or black, grey or navy tights
  • Black shoes or sandals (buckle or velcro fastenings please if your child is unable to tie their own shoelaces). Please also note that socks must be worn with both shoes and sandals. No high-heeled shoes.

Jewelry and Make-Up

Items of jewelry (other than a watch that must not contain any recording or communication features) should not be worn. Small stud earrings that are smaller than the child’s ear lobes are permissible but may not be worn for PE. For health and safety reasons, if they cannot be removed, they will be taped over with an appropriate low adhesive medical tape. Makeup, nail varnish and tattoos are not permitted in school. Long hair should be tied back with simple functional hair band or hair tie.

PE Kit

A full PE kit is essential. We encourage children to come dressed in their PE kit on their designated PE day. As with other items of uniform, all items must be clearly labelled and should include:

  • Black or navy plain shorts
  • White or navy plain t-shirt (long or short sleeved)
  • Black or navy tracksuit jumper/zip up top and bottoms/leggings (depending on the weather)
  • White, black, grey or navy socks
  • Trainers

Please note: No football kits

Swimming Kit

When it is your child's turn to swim, they will need:

  • A towel
  • Swimming costume or swimming trunks

You will be given notice in advance of your child’s lessons.

Forest School Kit

On the day when your child's class has Forest School, we would like your child to come to school in their Forest School kit. The Forest School kit is as follows:

  • Old clothes – tracksuit bottoms and a thick jumper (e.g. fleece)
  • Waterproof all-in-one suit or waterproof trousers and a waterproof coat
  • Old trainers (to be worn in school for the rest of the day)
  • Extra pair of socks
  • Wellies (in a bag)
  • Plastic bag(s) to take home muddy clothes

Additional kit required for cold weather:

  • Hat, gloves, and snood
  • Warm base layer (e.g. leggings and long-sleeve top, football skins, or thermal base layers)
  • Thick winter coat (to be worn under a waterproof coat)

Please note: Football kits are not suitable for Forest School sessions. Children should wear comfortable, warm clothing that can get muddy and withstand the outdoor elements.

Please ensure all items of clothing are labelled clearly with your child’s name.

Your child will need to come to school in their Forest School kit on their designated day unless you are informed otherwise. Children will attend forest school in all-weather so please ensure they come with clothing appropriate to the weather.
